2008 Season - Week 1

In 2004 Aaron selected Daunte Culpepper with the 4th pick in the draft and in 2005 made him his franchise player. In week 8 Culpepper went own with a serious injury. He never fully recovered and despite stops in Miami and Oakland last week he retired from the NFL. Aaron has mentioned a few times during the summer about selecting Brady with the 2008 first pick and him getting injured. Well it didn’t take long, just 11 throws into the season and Tom Brady suffered a season ending knee injury! He’s been placed on IR and ironically one of the names being mentioned to replace him is Daunte. Which interestingly would re-unite Culpepper with Randy Moss… Other Injuries Cheryl’s receiver Nate Burleson (Seattle) is out for the season with a knee injury. Ron’s kicker Mike Nugent has a thigh injury and the Jets have signed Jay Feely incase Nugent can’t go for a while. Gareth’s Franchise QB Vince Young is out for 2-4 weeks and George’s receiver Donte Stallworth is having an MRI today. Trading Day 1Aaron and Cheryl will be looking forward to Trading Day 1 which will be before the week 6 fixtures on Sunday Oct 12th. We will trade at 4:30pm before the Sky doubleheader and with 67 players still yet to open their accounts this will be a good time to lose the deadwood. Our Favourite Team Unsurprisingly the New England Patriots are our most popular team (for now) with 8 Patriots on BUMS rosters. Perhaps surprisingly, they were tied for most players with the New Orleans Saints (though 3 of them were selected by New Orleans fan Mark Harris). 6 Cowboys, 6 Giants and 6 Steelers were also chosen while 7 teams provided 5 players apiece. Every NFL roster is represented. BUMS on Seats. The Coopers are off to the Baseball Final Four next weekend as Marcus plays for the National Championship. Chief then heads off to America on Monday to spend 10 days with former BUM Paul Privitera. So Johnny will be hosting for the next 2 Sundays.
